Planning in Woodbridge & Melton

The Society's Planning Group takes forward one of our key objectives, namely to preserve features of historic or public interest in the towns and to promote high standards of planning and architecture. The Group, chaired by John Saggers, meets monthly to consider the most significant new local planning applications. The Group consists of members with many years of experience locally, as well as expertise in construction, architecture and planning. Where appropriate, the Group makes representations on behalf of the Society as a whole.


The planning applications section of the East Suffolk Council website is open to public view, is relatively user-friendly and can be accessed via the following link:

To search for a particular planning application, click 'Search for planning applications on Public Access' and use the search tool as instructed. Having found the relevant application, the full details can be viewed via the link to 'Documents and Comments' and then 'View associated documents'.
